MEET SEDERIA BOND

I founded Bond Strong Consulting in 2017 because I saw too small mission-driven organizations struggling with the people side of their work—not because they didn’t care, but because they didn’t have the infrastructure or the experienced leadership to get it right.
 

I’m a people-oriented and strategic operations executive with extensive experience building HR functions from the ground up, designing performance management and career pathing systems, hiring and developing talent, advocating for employees, and scaling teams. I’ve done this work across healthcare, EdTech, manufacturing, and the nonprofit sector.
 

Before starting Bond Strong, I served as VP of Human Resources at Progress Learning, where I scaled the team from 15 to over 100 employees following an acquisition and designed the company’s first performance review framework and compensation strategy. That experience—building something from nothing inside a fast-growing organization—is what I bring to every client engagement.
 

I take a practical, empathetic approach to consulting. Since founding Bond Strong, I've partnered with community foundations, social enterprises, EdTech companies, and growing businesses — providing embedded HR leadership, managing full-scope people operations, and guiding organizations through some of their most complex transitions.
 

My clients describe me as fair, honest, and deeply pragmatic—someone who can navigate sensitive issues with discretion while keeping teams aligned, informed, and moving forward. I believe that how leadership communicates and sets the tone is critical to the health and growth of any company.
 

I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College, where I developed a love for creative problem-solving, and my MBA from Cornell University. When I’m not working, I love spending time with my husband and children!

Challenge:

A major community foundation was operating without a dedicated HR team. Payroll was inefficient, compliance was at risk, and leadership had no strategic people partner.

What We Did:

Bond Strong embedded a two-person team to run the full scope of HR operations—payroll, benefits, COBRA administration, talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. We also implemented Paycom HRIS and completed the organization’s first-ever COO search.

Results:

60% reduction in payroll processing time. COO search completed in 90 days. Approximately 15% cost savings compared to building an internal three-person HR team.
